On Thursday, March 1st at 5:30 pm, YANA Members and Friends had a private tour of the 10th Anniversary Retrospective Resident Artists Exhibition at RedLine Contemporary Art Center, followed by a panel discussion.

Geoffrey Shamos (Yale College ’02), PhD, Development Director at RedLine, led the discussion with the following panel:

  • Libby Barbee, Artist & “Arts in Society” Manager at RedLine
  • Andrea Moore, Executive Director of the Wayfaring Band
  • Evan Weissman, Director of Warm Cookies of the Revolution

They discussed:

How are Denver’s artists and arts institutions building community and enhancing the civic fabric of the city? How are artists and institutions moving beyond traditional categories to engage with a broad range of social issues? What does it mean for arts institutions to be community responsive and culturally responsible?
