Addiction in the US was already at a crisis level when Covid struck. The pandemic fueled an increase in financial insecurity and social isolation, triggering a surge in addiction rates. On February 23rd, YANA’s Town Hall will address addiction for the first time by describing how two Yale-related nonprofits are using community-based approaches to support recovery.
Rabbi Iggy Gurin-Malous, CEO of the T’shuvah Center in New York, and Daniel J. McDermott ’76, Executive Director of Florida Lawyers Assistance in South Florida, will describe how both secular and non-secular recovery programs can be effective in treating addiction.
We hope you can join us for what promises to be a compelling conversation moderated by YANA’s Executive Director Rachel Littman ‘91.
