How Donors & Nonprofits Can Achieve Greater Impact in the Age of COVID-19 — Kat Rosqueta ‘89, Founding Executive Director, Center for High Impact Philanthropy, University of Pennsylvania
High impact philanthropy is the practice of using philanthropic funds for social impact. It starts with a social impact goal, then uses the best available evidence, considerations of cost and impact, and a commitment to ongoing learning to achieve that goal. It’s not about how much you give, but how well you give to drive positive, social change.
Drawing from the approach that she and her team at the Center for High Impact Philanthropy pioneered, Kat will share some of the key principles that both nonprofits and funders can use to identify opportunities for greater social impact. Given the scale of the harm caused by the current COVID-19 pandemic, she will illustrate how nonprofits and funders alike are applying these principles to respond to the current situation.
