INNOVATION WITH A PURPOSE: BUILDING AND FUNDING SOCIAL ENTERPRISES IN 2018
This panel discussion and networking event, which YANA co-sponsored with Stanford Alumni Startups of New York, provided a fascinating introduction to the world of impact investing and for-profit social enterprises.
The panel, which was moderated by Georgia Levenson Keohane (YC ’94), Executive Director of the Pershing Foundation, featured an impressive lineup of investors and entrepreneurs active in the world of for profit social enterprise. A highlight of the presentation was a discussion of how entrepreneurial approaches can help address significant barriers to higher education in the U.S., led by Ryan Craig (YC ’91), a Managing Director at University Ventures, and Will Sealy (SOM ’17), founder of SimpliFi. The two other members of the panel included Kanyi Maqubela, Co-Founder and Director of Heartbeat Health, and Andy Moon, Co-Founder and CEO of SunFarmer.
The event, held at SAP’s Next Gen Labs at Hudson Yards, was sold out with over 125 attendees.
