We moved our summer Roundtable out of the conference room and onto the roof of COFFEED, a social-purpose cafe that boasts a rooftop garden that’s home to City Growers and the Brooklyn Grange.
The event featured a presentation by the founders of Catapultian, which was created to help charitable organizations fulfill their missions and sustain themselves through entrepreneurship.
Joseph Kovler, Josh Kovler and Max Evans led a discussion on innovative ways for nonprofits to meet their funding goals, including the novel strategy of forming for-profit entities to generate revenue. And everyone enjoyed delicious produce from the garden, and we got to hear about the great programs for urban youth that City Growers operates there.
