Hope to see you there!
Looking forward to seeing many of you on Wednesday for our 2018 kickoff meeting as we enter YANA’s eighth full year of operation.
There was one person in particular who was present from the very beginning of YANA, an alum whose ideas, insight, and counsel were indispensable to the formation of the organization – and that’s Kathy Edersheim ’87, who recently published a case study in Academic Impressions that captures the essence of YANA, including why it was started, how it was launched, and the early challenges faced. It’s a great read and Kathy will be joining us next week to share her thoughts.
Spotlight will feature Tommy Safian, co-founder and executive director of Refoundry, a nonprofit that trains formerly incarcerated people to repurpose discarded materials into home furnishings and mentors them into their own businesses.
Save the Date – February 21st: Join us for a special evening on the rooftop of the Yale Club as members of the Yale Alumni Task Force on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion present highlights of their final report delivered last November to President Salovey. Enjoy wine and hors d’oeuvres as we screen a short video featuring Yale alumni, followed by remarks from Elizabeth Alexander ’84, renowned poet, author, and former chair of Yale’s African American Studies Department. Look for an Eventbrite invitation to follow shortly.
