A Panel Discussion of the Opioid Crisis in New England

Held April 3, 2017 | 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Partners In Health in Boston

This event was open to individuals interested in learning more about the opioid crisis in the U.S., with a specific focus on Boston and New England.  We were able to bring together a panel of experts in their fields to discuss the epidemic from diverse perspectives – from that of someone in long-term recovery, to someone working on the frontlines of caring for people with addiction, to that of someone working to support the children and families of people with addiction. Each of our panelists are working at the individual, community, and state levels to build programs that give more people access to the support they need.

Panelists:

  • Juan M. Spinnato, Marine Corps Activist, Medical Student, and Bioethics Masters Candidate
  • Heriberto “Berto” Sanchez, Manager, City-Wide Overdose Prevention Bureau of Recovery Services for the City of Boston
  • Moira O’Neill MPH ’98, PhD in Nursing ’11, Child Advocate for the State of New Hampshire
  • Brendan Little, Policy Director, City of Boston Mayor’s Office of Recovery Services
