Panel: Responding to Upheaval: Roles & Opportunities for Nonprofits
YANA DC hosted a panel event discussing how charities and advocacy organizations respond when upheaval occurs, be it natural disasters, like the recent destruction brought by massive hurricanes, or political turmoil.
The panel covered issues like securing the fundraising needed to support those urgent efforts, capitalizing on record-breaking fundraising, staffing for the short-term and the longer-term, the need to set up new charities vs. working through existing entities, and addressing fraudsters who prey on the goodwill of donors.
The panel discussion was lively and interactive. It was an amazing opportunity for our members to meet with practitioners in the field to discuss their work and recent events.
Panelists included:
- Tim Delaney, President & CEO, National Council of Nonprofits
- Caroline Fredrickson, President, American Constitution Society for Law & Policy
- Geoff Delizzio, Chief Development Officer, Red Cross of the National Capital Area
- George J. Schutzer, Partner, Squire Patton Boggs (US) LLP
Held November 14, 2017 | 6:00pm-8:00pm; panel starts at 6:30pm
Location
