March’s New York Monthly Meeting’s Spotlight featured Peter Heller, of the Heller Fundraising Group, a consulting firm that provides fundraising expertise for nonprofits — including strategic advising and implementation on capital campaigns, feasibility studies and major gift programs. Their tagline is “Your Aspirations, Funded,” because really they view money just as one of the building blocks that create strong, impactful organizations. Peter gave a presentation called “Fundraising Geometry,” which involved interactive, fun exercises to shed light on how to focus your attention on generating charitable revenue. A 12-minute video of Fundraising Geometry can be found on the Heller Fundraising Group’s homepage.
Here is a message from Peter:
Many thanks to YANA’s Ken Inadomi for inviting me to speak at the membership meeting in NYC on March 28! And a big thanks also to Liana Epstein, Grace Hsieh, and Lou Martarano helping with all of the details for the evening.
All I can say is that YANA ROCKS! Wow, what an inspiring and involved group. I’ve been to tons of nonprofit groups and networking meetings but there was something about the passion of this Yale group to get involved and make a difference. Keep up the great work.
It was an honor to speak with YANA members about how to focus their fundraising work a great deal of fun to share the basics of “Fundraising Geometry”!
I look forward to connecting with any YANA members that wish to continue to develop their fundraising skills. My firm advises nonprofits on powerful fundraising strategies, and we stick with you every step of the way!
