RANDALL’S ISLAND CLEANUP with
RANDALL’S ISLAND PARK ALLIANCE (RIPA)
Nov. 7, 2020 | New York City

On Saturday, November 7, 2020, Yale Community Connect volunteers Sam Rubin, his father Allan Rubin, Shravan Bhat, and Beth Goldberg spent a couple of hours cleaning up a stretch of Randall’s Island with Randall’s Island Park Alliance (RIPA) staff and other volunteers. They removed several garbage bags’ worth of trash near the river where people like to picnic and fish. RIPA provided smocks, all necessary PPE, and hand sanitizer. All volunteers wore masks, maintained social distance, and enjoyed the outdoors. Some volunteers traveled by Citi Bike, since there is a Citi Bike stand right near the meeting spot on Randall’s Island. We are going to try to schedule another clean-up opportunity for December.
